Noted above are some of the key skills which I feel that I can potentially gain from my work experience placement which can help contribute towards sustainable employment within the music industry as a whole.

One of the main factors that I feel will increase my chances of sustainable employment within music journalism in particular is the fact that I have the chance to stand out from competitors in numerous job roles now that I have work experience with NME on my CV.

​

However, the pivotal attribute I feel I will gain from my placement as a whole will be experience in a number of different forms including experience in writing and experience working with professionals in the field of music journalism. Opportunities to work with the likes of reputable names in the UK such as NME are not openly available to everyone so I am very keen to relish the unique opportunity that I have managed to achieve and build on the experiences I will take from the placement into future employment opportunities. 

 

Furthermore, I feel the experience of this work placement with NME will also improve my confidence in my abilities as a writer and as a person - as I am still very new to the sector – which will be invaluable.
